Corona Virus: Why Are Blood Clots Becoming Troublesome ?
Medical experts say that up to 30 per cent of patients seriously ill with the corona virus are facing a fatal condition of formation of blood clots.
What are blood clots or thrombosis?
Experts say that these blood clots or clots may be the cause of death of many patients. These clots are called thrombosis.
The formation of these clots causes severe swelling in the lungs. The body of a patient with corona virus produces inflammation in lungs as a normal reaction.
Patients all over the world are facing many other health problems due to this virus. Some of these problems are such that even the death of the patient can occur.
Micro-clots problem
In March, when the corona virus was spreading rapidly all over the world, at that time, doctors found a large number of patients admitted to the hospital who were having problems of blood clotting. The number of such patients was more than what the doctors feared.
Doctors came to know many more shocking things. For example, hundreds of micro-clots were also found in the lungs of some patients.
An increase in cases of deep vein thrombosis has also been reported due to this virus. Deep vein thrombosis are blood clots that are commonly found in the feet. If their pieces start reaching the upper part of the body, then it can be a risk to life. They block the blood vessels.

Grave danger
Last month, artist Brian McClure had to be brought to the hospital in Afratfari due to pneumonia complaints. But, soon after being admitted in the hospital, the scan revealed that the battle for life is more difficult for him.
He explains, "My lungs were screened and this showed that my blood clots had accumulated in my lungs. I was told that it was very dangerous."
He says, "I was really worried then. I was guessing that if my condition did not improve, I would be in serious trouble."
